Accounting Services in Bulgaria

Monthly bookkeeping, VAT returns, payroll, annual tax returns and financial statements for your Bulgarian company. Clear deadlines and one contact person, so you never have to chase the tax office yourself.

Every Bulgarian company needs an accountant, from the first month and also when there is no activity yet. The work itself is not complicated, but the deadlines are strict, the forms are in Bulgarian, and the fines for late filing can go to the manager personally. For a foreign owner, the hardest part is often not the accounting itself, but understanding what the accountant needs, when, and why. We make this simple. You send your documents, you get clear answers in English, and the filings are done on time.

What is included

Monthly bookkeeping of your invoices, expenses and bank transactions
Monthly VAT returns, if your company is VAT registered
Payroll and social contributions, including a salary you pay to yourself as manager
Registration of employment contracts with the tax office
The annual corporate tax return and the statistical report, by 30 June
The annual financial statements, published in the Commercial Register by 30 September
Dividend tax declarations when you take profit out of the company
Keeping track of your turnover, so you know in time if VAT registration is coming
Answers to your questions in English
The exact scope depends on your company. A company with no employees and no VAT needs much less work than a VAT registered company with staff, and the price follows this.

How it works every month

At the start of each month you send us the documents for the previous month: sales invoices, purchase invoices and bank statements. Most clients do this by email or a shared folder, and it takes them a few minutes.
We book everything, prepare the filings and tell you if there is any tax to pay, how much and by when. If something is missing or unclear, we ask early, not on the deadline day. You always know where your company stands.

Who does the work

The accounting is done by experienced, licensed Bulgarian accountants we work with and trust. We are your contact in English, we coordinate the work, and we make sure deadlines are not missed and your questions get clear answers.

Salary or dividend?

One of the most common questions from our clients is how to take money out of the company in the best way. A salary means social contributions and 10% income tax. A dividend means 10% corporate tax on the profit and then 5% dividend tax. Often a combination makes sense, but the right answer depends on your situation, and also on where you live. We look at this together with you at the start, and again when your business changes.

Switching from another accountant

If you already have a Bulgarian company and you are not happy with your current accountant, for example because of slow answers, language problems or missed deadlines, we can take over. We organise the handover of documents and check that past filings are in order, so you start clean. Many of our accounting clients came to us this way.

Companies without activity

If your company doesn’t have activity yet, or had none for a year, it still has some obligations, for example a declaration of no activity by 30 June. We take care of this as well, for a lower fee.

Who this is for

Our accounting service is for foreign owners of Bulgarian companies: freelancers and consultants, IT and online businesses, agencies, e-commerce, and investors. Whether you live in Bulgaria or abroad, you get the same clear communication and the same deadlines kept.
If you want to see all the yearly deadlines in one place, read our article about tax and reporting deadlines for Bulgarian companies.
